Xcel Team

The Xcel program is designed for kiddos who are interested in competing in the sport of gymnastics, but are not ready for the rigors of a typical USAG competition team — meaning, spending 12 hours a week in the gym. The Xcel teams focus on taking a specific set of skills and making them perfect; whereas recreational classes focus on trying all of the gymnastics skills.

In order to be on the Xcel team, kids need to have a few basic skills, but most importantly, there must be the desire to learn those skills perfectly and the patience to learn detailed and meticulous routines on all four events.

Policies and Procedures

Xcel team slots are very limited. We currently offer two different times on Saturday mornings; 8:30-10:00 and 10:00-11:30. Each class has 12 spaces available and the classes are led by Miss Suzanne, Mr. Trevor, Miss Molly and Miss Helen.

We understand that everyone has obligations outside of gymnastics, but members of an Xcel team make a commitment not to miss practice unless it is absolutely necessary. Since there are only 2 Xcel practices, and both are typically full, the Xcel program does not offer makeup opportunities. Also, a member of an Xcel team makes a commitment to consistently stay enrolled for the season. Although tuition is paid on a monthly basis, if an athlete chooses to drop out for a month, they will not be permitted back into the program until May.

Tuition for this program is $136.00 a month plus additional meet fees.
